Deepika Padukone ‘Padmavati’ Film Title Changed has Padmaavat


Deepika Padukone Upcoming Most Awaited Film ‘Padmavati‘ period drama has now officially been renamed Padmaavat. The film has finally received a green signal from the CBFC which awarded it a ‘U/A’ certificate with some modifications. Amongst the suggested modifications was the title change of the film. As Per Latest Reports Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film is all set to hit the screens on January 25, 2018. However, an official announcement from the producers is awaited.

This film got into a controversy after Rajput groups claimed that it distorts history. The historians were astonished whether Padmini actually existed. As the protests spread through different states, the release date of the film was postponed.The modification includes changing the disclaimer that the movie does not claim historical accuracy and added that the movie does not subscribe to the Sati system practice.

Secondly, the title of the movie was suggested to be changed from Padmavati to Padmavat if the filmmakers had added their creativity. The Ghoomar song was also asked to be changed to fit the character in it.The latest development is the change in the title, which was one of the modifications suggested by the censor board. The makers have taken it into consideration, and have changed the title of the film from Padmavati to Padmaavat.

Last night, the official social media pages of Padmavati also changed the title to Padmaavat.With the official handles changing their names, we are now waiting for new film stills to release.

Meanwhile, CBFC has suggested some 300 cuts to the film.”The makers submitted the final film with agreed five modifications. The CBFC’s process is complete and any further news about cuts etc is absolutely untrue.”Padmaavat stars Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini of Chittor, who committed Jauhar(self-immolation) after Alauddin Khilji invaded her fort. Shahid plays Rawal Ratan Singh, Deepika’s husband. Padmaavat clashes at the box office with Akshay Kumar’s PadMan.
