Major Fire accident in Annapurna Studios today; No one Injured


In an unfortunate incident, a major fire broke out at Annapurna studio in Banjara Hills on Monday evening. Going by the latest sources in the film Nagar, we have come to know that a short circuit has caused fire and it spread in no time, bringing the whole set down to ashes.

Apparently, the movie sets that were made of wood, caught fire and the fire spread quickly. The sources revealed that there are no reports of loss of life but one of the sets related to Manam movie along with Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy new movie sets underwent damage. TV reports say that the sets have been completely burnt.

The Annapurna staff tried their best to control the fire but they failed to stop it which resulted in a lot of damage. Due to the heavy traffic, the fire tenders arrived late and the staff members had to barricade the studio to prevent people from entering. Speaking to TNM Hyderabad District Fire Officer, Srinivas Reddy said, “We arrived to the spot at 6.30. 80% of the fire is under control. We will douse the fire in another one hour.”

Jubilee Hills Inspector K Purna Chander said, “No one was injured in the accident, as the sets were empty. The fire is now under control. We’ll be able to tell the reason for the fire tomorrow morning.”

As of now, the management of Annapurna Studio is maintaining a stoic silence. An official announcement is yet to be made once the fire is brought down completely. Earlier in 2011 and 2013 also, there were fire accidents at Annapurna Studios due to short circuits.The 22-acre Annapurna Studios was set up in 1975 as a production and distribution company by the late legendary actor Nageswara Rao and was named after his wife.
