Oscars’ Remember Sridevi: Oscars’ memorium segment is one such thing that places every internationally renowned actors who passed away in the past year. This segment honours the actors for their contribution towards the film industry. In the same segment, our country’s pride beautiful actress Sridevi and ever loved actor Shashi Kapoor who passed away in recent year were shown.

Shashi Kapoor died last year in December. Besides Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor, this year, set to Eddie Vedder performing a Tom Petty song live, ‘In Memoriam’ also remembered former James Bond Sir Roger Moore, French star Jeanne Moreau, actors Martin Landau and Harry Dean Stanton, actor and playwright Sam Shepard, and directors George Romero and Jonathan Demme.

Regarding this, Rishi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Ramesh Bala, Farah Khan and several others said thanks to Academy awards for honouring the pride of our country. Rishi kapoor tweeted, Oscars. Thank you for remembering Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi. Thrilled to see the name Raj Kapoor as the executive producer of the show. We are on the threshold of world cinema!

Varun Dhawan also took to his twitter saying, So amazing to see the #oscars pay respect to #shashikapoor and #sridevi #Oscar90. The Guardian quoted about Sridevi saying, One of Bollywood’s biggest female stars, Sridevi died unexpectedly aged 54 after drowning in a bath. With more than 300 film credits (despite a 15 year break after her marriage), she had legions of adoring fans.

Vidya Balan also said, The Oscars paid tribute to our beloved Sridevi… #YourLegacyLivesOn.

This year, the academy awards goes to The Shape of Water – the most nominated film of the evening and winning four Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. It was followed by eight-time nominee, Christopher Nolan’s epic World War II film, Dunkirk, which won three awards.
