However, Ganesh was later granted bail. Writer Vakkantham Vamsi against Bandla Ganesh alias Ganesh Babu, a leading film producer, complaining of cheque bounce.
Apparently, Bandla Ganesh had issued a cheque to Vakkantham Vamsi as payment for writing a story for Jr NTR starrer Temper which was directed by Puri Jagannadh. Later the cheque did not go through and bounced. The producer and the writer have been in this legal battle for a long time now and have also sought help from veterans in the Telugu film industry which did not yield any results.
The 16th Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court after conducting trials, convicted Ganesh in the cheque bounce case. “The court has directed the producer to undergo six months of rigorous imprisonment and penalised him of 15.86 lakh under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The producer has failed to pay 25 lakh to Vamsi and also issued a cheque that bounced,” sources said.
Ganesh, who is not a stranger to these type of financial controversies, got bail from the court. Many of the public says Bandla used some special power to get this bail. It remains to be seen, which influential people helped Bandla Ganesh in this case.
