Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s ‘2.0‘, which is one of the most awaited films in early 2018, has been making strong pre-release business. Recently, The theatrical rights of the film’s Telugu version have been sold out. The Global Cinemas has bagged the distributions rights of the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for a whopping price.
Raju Mahalingam, creative head of Lyca Productions took on his Twitter account, to confirm this news, and he tweeted, ‘History in the Making.’ “2.0 – SOLD OUT for a Whopping Price!! AP and Telangana !!! Lyca Productions & Global Cinema partnership is a “History in the Making”!!!”.
The producers have not revealed the exact price of a deal, but a source closed to the 2.0 team revealed that the theatrical rights of the Telugu states have sold out for Rs 81 Crore to Global Cinema’s Sunil Narang. It becomes the costliest dubbed film in the History of Telugu cinema.
Film is made in the massive budget of Rs 400 crores, and Popular Television Network Zee TV acquired 2.0 aka Enthiran 2.0 Satellite Rights sold out for an amount of Rs 110 crores.
‘2.0′ is a multi-lingual film which is the sequel to 2010’s blockbuster ‘Enthiran’ or ‘Robo’ which is directed by S. Shankar and co-written by him and Sujatha Rangarajan.Now, 2.0 is also directed by S. Shankar and co-written by B.Jeyamohan. Lyca Productions has bankrolled the project.
The film features Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in lead roles. The film also stars Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain and Kalabhavan Shajohnin pivotal roles. Film Music is Composed By AR Rahman and 2.0 will have the heavy dose of VFX work. The movie is the biggest film made in India in terms of budget and has to set the box office on fire in order to reap profits to the makers. 2.0 will release during Sankranthi festival, 2018.
