Shahid Kapoor confirms Arjun Reddy remake, ready to play Vijay Deverakonda’s role


Bollywood Actor Shahid Kapoor will play the role of an enfant terrible in Arjun Reddy’s Hindi remake, a role made memorable by Vijay Deverakonda in Telugu. Shahid has been in the talks to be a part of the remake for a while now but gave his nod after finishing work on Batti Gul Meter Chalu.

On Saturday, Shahid took to Twitter to confirm the reports of him doing the Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ as he wrote, “Team ARJUN REDDY is READY !!Here we go. Wish us luck guys. @imvangasandeep @MuradKhetani @ashwinvarde.”

Apart from this, the actor will also be working with Chef director Raja Krishna Menon.

A source close to the development told the tabloid, “Shahid and Raja have been planning to work together for a while now. They had met after the release of Udta Punjab back in June 2016 and had kept in touch, looking for a project to collaborate on. Both agreed on a script that Raja had been working on.”

Confirming the same, director Raja Krishna Menon said, “Yes Shahid and I are very keen to do our next film together. We have been working on an idea that we are both excited about and it will be a film based on a true story.”

The regular shooting will commence in July and the remaining cast and crew will be finalized soon. The film is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
