It has been three decades since the film released, but Mr. India is fresh in the minds of fans even now. Who can forget Sridevi turning up the heat in her blue saree or “Mogambo khush hua”? Though filmmaker Shekhar Kapur has totally disowned any plans on making a sequel to 1987 hit film Mr. India, it is learned from sources that producer Boney Kapoor intends to go ahead with a new director.
Apparently, The filmmaker who directed the blockbuster film ‘MOM’, Ravi Udyawar, will helm Mr. India 2. Interestingly there is a strong buzz surrounding the casting of this much-awaited film. Sources claim that there will be two lead pairs in Mr. India 2 and Buzz is that Jhanvi Kapoor will star alongside her mother in this sequel.
The source was quoted saying as, “There are two pairs of leads in Mr India 2. While Anil Kapoor and Sridevi will reprise the roles that they played in the first film, there will be a new pair. Jhanvi is likely to play the young female lead.”
Talking about Jhanvi’s debut, the young diva is going to make her Bollywood debut in the remake of the hit Marathi film ‘Sairat’ that would be produced under Dharma Productions banner. Jhanvi would be sharing screen space with Ishaan Khatter in the film. A few days ago it was reported that Sridevi is miffed with Karan Johar for not making an official announcement about her daughter’s debut film. However, there’s no confirmation about it.
