Jaipur Alliance Air Pilot Refused To Fly Plane Saying That His Duty Was Over


Jaipur : This Incident Happened in Jaipur 40 Delhi-bound passengers were left stranded in Jaipur airport after the pilot of their Alliance Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of India’s national carrier Air India refused to fly Plane Saying That His Duty Was Over. While some passengers were taken to Delhi by in a bus, others were provided hotel accommodation and the rest were sent on another flight today. The Alliance Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India which was founded in 1996.

As Per Reports of Leading News Paper the plane was left standing at the runway till Thursday evening.

The Flight 9I 644 was supposed to fly from Lucknow to Delhi, via Jaipur. It was scheduled to arrive at Jaipur airport at 9 pm, however, it was delayed and arrived only at about 1:30 am. Due to the smog at the capital and other technical issues at Delhi airport, it couldn’t take off until 2 am.

“The pilot’s duty-time got over and therefore, he could not take the flight,” said J S Balhara, director, Sanganer airport, Jaipur. He said the pilot cannot exceed duty hours for safety reasons as per the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) norms. The airline staff on duty would also not comment on the bizarre incident, directed the media to the offices of the airline. There too the buck was passed: “We do not know. Such matters come under the Roster department of the airline in Delhi,” said one employee.
