Jharkhand: A 42-year-old laborer from Jharkhand, who traveled about 600km on his bicycle looking for his missing wife, was finally reunited with her in West Bengal’s Kharagpur last week. Going in Detail the Person is Identified as Manohar Nayar, from Musabani’s Baligoda village, covered 65 villages during his quest. He pedaled 25 km daily for 24 days. Nayar’s wife, Anita, went missing from her parent’s home in Kumrasol village on January 14. She had gone there for Makar Sankranti. When she didn’t return back after two days, he lodged a complaint at Musabani and Dumaria police stations. After police could not provide any lead, Manohar decided to start the search for her all by himself.
Despite a massive search, when Nayak couldn’t find his wife, he decided to approach a local paper for help. The daily published her photo, which was recognized by some locals, who had seen her in Kharagpur. Soon, the Kharagpur police contacted Musabani cops and thereby successfully ending Nayak’s quest.
Nayak, who works as a daily wage laborer and his wife were reunited on February 10 and they returned to their village a day later.
The couple was reunited on February 10 after Manohar produced both their Aadhaar cards at Kharagpur police station. They returned home on February 11.
