Prabhas and Rana Baahubali 2: The Conclusion completes 100 days in Japan


Indian Film  Baahubali 2: The Conclusion shattered the box office record in India in 2017. The entire Indian film industry was in total awe of the film and its achievements, reportedly ‘Baahubali 2’also grossed over Rs 1700 crores in global box office collections. The latest news is that the film has successfully crossed 100 days in Japan.

Shobu Yarlagadda, one of the producers of the film recently posted a tweeting saying, “@BaahubaliMovie 2 released in Japan on 29th December. It has crossed 100 days in theatres & presently in its 15th week grossing over US$1.3 million! A big thank you to Japanese fans for the love and our Japanese distributor @movietwin2 for a great release! @ssrajamouli.” (sic)

Apparently, the success of the film in Japan is a good sign for Indian cinema as it means that the cinephilies there are more welcoming for Indian films than expected.The top five highest grossing films in Japan are Dancing Raja ($1.6 mn), 3 Idiots ($1.48 mn), Baahubali 2 ($1.3 mn), English Vinglish($1.2 mn) and Enthiran ($1 mn).

Baahubali 2 featuring actors Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Sathyaraj and many more crossed grossed over Rs 1700 crores at global box office. The movie set benchmarks for many films and it was praised by many Bollywood celebs. Prabhas dedicated almost five years of his life to the movie. Baahubali: The Conclusion was the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning.

Directed by SS Rajamouli, Baahubali 2, was released on March 16, 2017 and earned over $262 mn at the box office worldwide.
