VK Sasikala husband M Natarajan died: granted 15-day parole to attend husband’s funeral


Former Tamil Nadu AIADMK chief VK Sasikala Husband Natarajan Maruthappa died at a private hospital in Chennai in the wee hours of Tuesday. Maruthappa passed away at the age of 76 at Gleneagles Global Health City Hospital in Chennai last night. He was hospitalised on Sunday after complaining of chest pain. He has reportedly put on a ventilator as his condition worsened yesterday. He died of multiple organ failures.

VK Sasikala on Tuesday walked out of Bengaluru jail after being granted a 15-day parole to attend the last rites of her husband M Natarajan, who died in the wee hours of Tuesday following multiple organ failures.The body was kept at his Besant Nagar residence in Chennai for people to pay homage.Sources close to M Natarajan’s family said his body will be taken to his native village in Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu for the final rites, PTI reported.The last rites of Natarajan will take place in Thanjavur.

Sasikala was jailed in February 2017 after the Supreme Court found her guilty in a Rs 66.6 crore disproportionate assets case and sentenced her to four years in prison. She was last granted parole on October 7, 2017, to visit Natarajan when he underwent simultaneous liver and kidney transplants.
