Apply oil on your face, arms and the rest of the body. Use coconut oil, mustard oil or olive oil for this. Wash your skin with cold water and try to gently remove the colours by sliding them off as the oil applied beforehand would help in this. Lemon is a natural bleaching agent that is useful in getting rid of colour stains. Leave it for 15 minutes and apply plenty of moisturiser after that. Cleansers can also be used.
Tips to Remove Holi Colours from Hair
Massage egg yolk onto your scalp for 30 minutes. Before using a mild shampoo is also an effective method to rid your hair of holi colour and its damaging chemicals. For washing the colour off your hair, use a mild herbal shampoo or a home-made one. Soak shikakai, reetha and amla or Indian gooseberry overnight, boil and strain it in the morning and you have a very good shampoo ready. If you had already applied oil on your hair before playing with colours, it would not be too difficult to wash the colours off.
The following day, 2 teaspoons fenugreek seeds, shikakai powder 3 cups – water, and amla powder should be used to make a boiled mixture with which you can shampoo your hair. Post this procedure, apply henna to your hair.
