Newton Movie Day 4 / Fourth Day Collections: Rajkummar Rao’s film has outstanding income on the second and third day. The weekend has given the film more than Rs.10 crore in the three days. But we have to see the pace of the movie over the Monday as it is not a weekday. It started on a slow note with less than a crore on its opening day but quickly gained pace.

With a growth of almost 35% from Saturday to Sunday, the film has already minted Rs 6.90 crore in total. On Saturday, the movie’s income was grown at whooping rate o 162.5% which has given the film a perfect weekend. Newton being India’s official entry to the Oscars has also become a boon for the film’s performance at the ticketing counter. It has also got rave reviews from critics all over and even fans are bowled over by Rajkummar’s stellar acting skills.

According to IE, Rajkummar Rao said that, “I am elated and super thrilled. The kind of response we are getting for the film in India is so good and now, an Oscar submission, it’s huge. I am very happy to represent India at Oscars. I hope the film makes it to the final list. But right now, I am very happy because we made the movie with a lot of passion, sincerity and honesty, and people are recognising that sincerity.”

The film marks Rajkummar Rao’s fourth film this year. ‘Newton’ revolves around a young government clerk Newton Kumar, who has been appointed on election duty to in a Naxal-controlled village, where villagers have no idea about the concept of voting. While performing his election duty, he also secretly starts a mission to educate the underprivileged villagers.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that, “#Newton is expected to maintain momentum on weekdays… Fri 96 lakhs, Sat 2.52 cr, Sun 3.42 cr. Total: ₹ 6.90 cr [430 screens]. India biz.” The film is expected to collect over 3 crores on Monday with the Word-of-Mouth.
