Doctor Subhash Gupta to perform liver transplants in Karachi this month and train Pak doctors


Due to Tensions on LOC A renowned Indian surgeon, Dr. Subhash Gupta, is all set to perform three to four liver transplant surgeries in Karachi, as per a report by Pakistan media. Liver transplant is a surgical procedure that replaces a patient’s diseased liver with a whole or partial healthy liver from another person. A liver transplant may be the only option for people with an advanced liver disease. The liver is one of the biggest organs in your body, performing hundreds of important functions, including the fat-burning process to keep one fit and healthy.

As Per English daily tribune has reported that Gupta will be visiting with his team this month. DUHS Vice-Chancellor professor Saeed Quraishy has made the announcement that Dr Gupta will be arriving there to teach and out carry out Liver transplant surgery. “Dr Gupta is coming to Karachi this month to carry out three to four liver transplant surgeries at the Ojha campus of DUHS,” said Saeed Quraishy, Vice Chancellor. Vice-chancellor, Dr Gupta’s visit will be hopefully a learning experience for the budding doctors and surgeons.

Gupta had performed his last operation at DUHS in December last year and will perform more liver transplants in addition to training a team of Pakistani surgeons so that they could conduct the complicated surgery locally without the supervision of a foreign expert.

The 56-year-old surgeon, based in Delhi, is currently the chairman of the Liver and Biliary Sciences department at Max Super Speciality Hospital.

He had performed liver transplant surgeries in Pakistan in December 2017.
