Pregnant Woman Dies of H1N1 Influenza: In a very tragic incident, the doctors who saved a baby to come to life couldn’t save the woman who is suffering with Swine Flu. Pregnant woman, whose baby was saved by doctors at Sher-e-Kashmir institute of medical sciences two weeks ago, and another male patient have died of H1N1 influenza this week, taking the total number of such deaths to 29 at the hospital this season, so far.
According to Greater kashmir, A source said that a 30-year-old woman, admitted to the surgical intensive care unit of SKIMS for about a month, died earlier this week. “She was pregnant at the time of admission, but doctors saved her baby by doing a caesarean section on 28th December when her condition deteriorated. She did not improve and breathed her last,” the source said.
A doctor said that another pregnant woman, suspected to have swine flu, was presently admitted at the SICU and is battling for her life. “Her fetus had died and a surgery was planned. Her H1N1 report is awaited but we have put her on treatment,” the doctor said.
Another patient admitted at the ICU with H1N1 flu is an employee of SKIMS. “He is also critical,” the doctor said.
