DUSU Election Results declared few mintues back For the first time since 2007, NSUI has bagged the president post in Delhi University Students Union elections. ABVP has got its candidate elected as Joint Secretary as the counting of votes for Delhi University Students’ Union is almost complete. The main contestants for the presidential post were Rajat Choudhary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Rocky Tusheed of the National Student Union of India (NSUI), Parul Chauha of the All-India Students Association (AISA), and independent candidates Raja Choudury and Alka. Elections to the student body were held on 12 September.
Moreover, the final counting of votes has not released yet, as per the sources, it seems that NSUI is taking lead in three seats. And this would be the comeback for the Congress backed students Union after five-year downward graph. In a turnaround, the NSUI is leading whereas in six round of counting ABVP is maintaining a strong lead on all four seats. After six round of counting the RSS backed ABVP has maintained to lead over the Congress NSUI. The counting of votes of the DUSU elections is underway at a community hall near Kingsway Camp under a tight police security.
NSUI supporters were seen campaigning for their presidential candidate Rocky Tusheed with loud music systems blaring ‘We love We Love Rocky’.From NSUI, Rocky Tuseed who is an MA Buddhist Studies student, Kunal Sehrawat for the post of vice-president, Meenakshi Meena (secretary) and Avinash Yadav (joint secretary).
Reports have also emerged that a lot many students preferred NOTA instead of voting for a candidate.
