Revanth Reddy : Former TDP leader Revanth Reddy to join Congress after meeting Rahul Gandhi As Per Sources Revanth Reddy, who quit the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) yesterday, going to join Congress on October 31 in the presence of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.”Revanth Reddy is a respected and dynamic leader and we welcome him to join the Congress,” Mr Kuntia, said adding there is no opposition within Congress over his joining.
On Saturday Reddy went to Vijayawada to meet his party president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to discuss his exit from the party unit in Telangana. He, however, returned to Hyderabad without meeting Naidu, but submitted his resignation letter to the chief minister’s office.
Revanth Reddy is an accused in a cash-for-vote scam. The Telangana Anti-corruption Bureau had arrested him after he was caught in 2015 allegedly trying to bribe nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson.
For the past few days, there has been a confusion in Telangana TDP with reports claiming that why Mr Revanth Reddy, who is an MLA from Kodangal in Mahabubnagar district, met Rahul Gandhi and was about to join Congress.Mr Reddy also caused a stir by accusing some leaders of Andhra Pradesh TDP, including two ministers, of securing huge financial contracts from the TRS government in Telangana.
