Panneerselvam TN CM : Sasikala Natarajan to Replace Panneerselvam as Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister.All Eyes on MLAs Meet Tomorrow. If press reports are to be true a close aide of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J. Jayalalithaa Sasikala is expected to take the oath on 8th or 9th February.A decision in this regard is likely to be taken at a meeting of the AIADMK MLAs on Sunday, sources said.
Sources added that three top bureaucrats, including advisor to the Tamil Nadu government Sheila Balakrishnan, a Jayalalithaa loyalist, had been asked to resign on Friday night. Following her appointment, Oppostion party leaders had also Demanded Sasikala to contest from R.K. Nagar constituency and become the Chief Minister for Tamil Nadu State.
AIADMK has followed the old tradition of having its General Secretary lead the government. Both MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa had held the post of party General Secretary and Chief Minister at the same time. This is one reason that has been cited by many AIADMK leaders while declaring their support for Sasikala as next Chief Minister.Sasikala’s husband Natarajan too has made much noise in the last few weeks, asserting the family’s bond with Jayalalithaa.
AIADMK MLAs are slated to meet in Chennai on February 5, but many say that this is to ocal body Meeting which have remained in limbo for a while. However But in a few Hours we will know for sure if the wave of change in the power corridors of Chennai.
Meanwhile, miffed with Sasikala’s appointment, late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s niece J. Deepa on January 17 announced her decision of joining politics and had said that she wasn’t sure whether she will join the AIADMK or float a new party.
Deepa said she would announce her next course of action on February 24, the birthday of her aunt Jayalalithaa, who died on December 5.
