BHIM App Downloads Hit 3 Million: The play store is going crazy with BHIM(Bharat Interface for Money) app which topped the free apps downloads list. According to the report, BHIM app hits 3 Million downloads in the first week of its release. It also topped download chart by download 1 lakh times in the first two days of its release. This is a great feat from Indian government point of view.

In just four days since its launch, digital payments app BHIM has become the top app on Google Play Store in India and users have made over 5 lakh transactions so far, Niti Ayog CEO Amitabh Kant said. He also tweeted that, “Bhim App – 3 million download since launch, No 1 on Play Store in India amongst all apps, over 500,000 transactions since launch. #MakeinIndia”.

BHIM App is interoperable with other Unified Payment Interface (UPI) applications, and bank accounts. BHIM is developed by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). Your mobile number is your payment address (PA), and you can simply start transacting.

Send money to or receive money from friends, family and customers through a mobile number or payment address. Money can also be sent to non UPI supported banks using IFSC and MMID. You can also collect money by sending a request and reverse payments if required. This app limits the transactions for a Maximum of Rs. 10,000 per transaction and Rs. 20,000 within 24 hours. You will need to register using the mobile number which directs you to create the UPI pin. Once you create the pin, you will be directed to list of bank accounts which you can select for transactions. You can just hit the mobile number to which you would like to send/receive.
