BSNL Launched Unlimited Calling at Rs 144:

After Jio revolution, BSNL joined the competition by launching unlimited calling pack at just RS 144 which will be valid for six months. This is a great opportunity for this telco to get the attraction towards itself and make itself a competitor for Reliance Jio. Reliance Jio will be launching the commercial services from April 1st. This may be a problem for all the other telco’s.

The SMS charges under this pack cost 50 paise per SMS while in home LSA. While on national roaming, the local messages would cost 25 paise per SMS and STD messages would be priced at 38 paise. All other charges as per minute per plan. The new pack would be available to both prepaid and postpaid BSNL broadband customers. The data would cost 3 paise per 10KB.

BSNL was also taking up several initiatives, including the launch of 4,400 WiFi hotspots across the country. “We have 4,400 WiFi hotspots launched countrywide. I think in Mahabalipuram near Chennai has a similar WiFi hotspots. Our immediate strategy is to expand this. In next one year, we will be having around 40,000 WiFi Hotspots across the country,” BSNL chairman and managing director Anupam Srivastava said.

He also added that they will be planning to unveil BSNL LTE services in phased manner after they brought 2500 Mhz bandwidth from government to expand their network in rural areas. This is a great opportunity for many service providers to take initiative before Jio launch its services commercially.

The rate will be applicable in Kolkata TD, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Gujrat, MP, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra & Rajasthan for within network calls. In other circles the same offer will vary from Rs 119 to 149.
