Google Home which was launched last year and has garnered much attention in United States is now coming to India very soon. Even with this, there is an exciting news for all the smartphone and Google pixel lovers. The Google pixel is also coming to India at cheaper price. Google is expected to launch a mid range Pixel device in the month of July specifically for India.
“Google is excited about the expansion of the consumer products business in India with the advent of the cheap 4G internet led by Reliance Jio and other operators which it says will help to realise maximum potential of these products,” said a leading retailer who had participated in the meet.
California-based Alphabet, the parent company of Google, will launch its smart speakers, premium laptop Pixelbook, and intelligent home automation products, and is even planning a mid-range smartphone especially for markets such as India, the executives said. Google’s top brass shared details of its consumer products expansion plans in trade meets held in Malaysia, the UK and the US last month.
Google Home and Google Home Mini come in India after a long wait. Rival Amazon’s Echo speakers powered by the Alexa voice-assistant are already available in Indian market. Google Home mini was launched alongside the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones in October 2017, while the Google Home was launched at the company’s annual developer conference I/O in May 2016.
Google’s smart speakers are powered by Assistant and the executives say the speakers will support Hindi and ten other regional languages in the country. The report also gives us an insight into their pricing as well. The Google Home is expected to be priced at Rs 9,999 while the Home Mini will retail at Rs 4,499. The price is very competing with Amazon Echo and Echo Dot.
