HMD Global Started officially rolling out Android Oreo 8.1 to Nokia 8


Nokia 8 Oreo Update:  Nokia 8 has Started rolling out Android Oreo 8.1 officially. HMD Global Chief product officer Juho Sarvikas confirmed the rollout earlier today, telling users via a Twitter post that “the sweetest Android to date” is heading to the mid-range flagship.

The newest Oreo update includes features such as battery saving navigation buttons, revamped Power menu, Bluetooth battery percentage, and a new Setting menu, as per the changelog.

The update also corrects the much talked about hamburger emoji and also includes the February Google Security Patch. The news of rollout comes on the back of a massive price cut for the Nokia 8 in India, making it currently one of the lowest priced phones in the country to offer a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC.

The flagship comes with a 5.3-inch quad-HD IPS display with 700 nits of brightness, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable by up to 256GB via a hybrid micro-SD card slot. The Nokia 8 is backed by a 3,090mAh battery and supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging.

HMD Global has already announced that all the Nokia smartphones will receive Android updates for a minimum of two years. The company has also been consistent in terms of releasing latest Android updates and monthly security updates for their smartphones.
