MIUI 9 Update: Xiaomi has revealed the release date for the next software version update which is to bring Android 7.1.1 Nougat to all the Xiaomi users. The company announced that MIUI 9 will be first released to Mi 6 which is the latest smartphone flagship from the company and also will be released to other smartphone of Redmi Note 4X which is another high end smartphone from the company. According to a report by Chinese website MyDrivers.com, Xiaomi will roll out the updates to Mi 6 and Remdi Note 4X on 11 August 2017.
The Mi 5 was initially listed among the next batch of handsets that would receive the MIUI 9 update. However, the device apparently now has its own schedule. Considering that the Mi 5 is one of Xiaomi’s best-selling phones, the device getting a special treatment doesn’t come as surprise. The Mi 5 will be followed by the Xiaomi Mi 6 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X which will be getting the MIUI 9 OS on August 11.
MIUI 9 Update Brings Joy to Xiaomi Smartphone Users:
The set of 12 other smartphones which will receive the MIUI 9 OS update on August 25, exactly two weeks after the first roll-out. These devices include Xiaomi Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi 4x, Mi 4c, Mi Note Pro and Redmi 4X. There will also be a third wave of the MIUI 9 OS update, which will come to all other Xiaomi smartphones, except for the Redmi 2A and the Redmi 1/1S.
The MIUI 9 packs a number of upgrades such as the Smart app launcher, Smart Assistant and image search. It also includes an improved haptic feed along with CPU acceleration.
This comes weeks after the company announced its latest device the Xiaomi Mi 5X. The device will be powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 along with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It will also pack a 5.5-inch full HD display with a full metal unibody design.
