After Nokia 2 announcement, HMD Global owned Nokia brand, has announced an upgraded version of its Nokia 5 smartphone in India. The new variant of Nokia 5 comes with 3GB RAM variant and will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting 7 November. After the online sale, Nokia will sell the new phone via offline retail stores across the country from November 14 onwards. The new device is priced marginally higher at Rs 13,499 in comparison to the 2GB variant which was launched at Rs 12,499.
HMD Global has originally launched Nokia 5 in June 2017 but has only been available in the 2GB RAM variant all this while. The smartphone comes in two colours — Matte Black and Tempered Blue. Going to the specifications, Nokia 5 features a stunning 5.2-inch IPS display with HD resolution (1280×720). The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC with Adreno 505 GPU and 3 GB of RAM along with 16 GB internal storage. Users can expand the internal storage using a microSD card of up to 128 GB in size.The handset sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP front camera. The smartphone has a 3000 mAh battery and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with a promised upgrade to Android Oreo.
Other key features of the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1, FM radio with RDS, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC for sharing, ANT, Micro USB with OTG and 3.5mm audio jack. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the front.
