Karnataka Players KL Rahul & Manish Pandey Hits Big: Karnataka Cricket Board is a board well known for producing some of the classic batsmen to Indian Cricket Team. Now, the players of Karnataka Cricket Board who are in Indian Cricket Team, KL Rahul and Manish Pandey scores Rs.11 Crore bid in IPL yesterday and will be playing for Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.
Interestingly KL Rahul and Manish Pandey were denied Right to Match Card by their previous owner after Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders did not use their Right to Match (RTM) card to retain them respectively. Besides that, Pandey was bought by SRH at the exact same price to equal Rahul as the most expensive Indian at this year’s auction on Day 1.
Beside KL Rahul and Manish Pandey, the other big name from Indian Cricket Team was Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh. Gambhir, who led Kolkata to two IPL titles, was picked up by the Delhi Daredevils for Rs. 2.80 crore after KXIP stopped bidding at Rs 2.60 crore. While Yuvraj was picked by KXIP for the base price of Rs.2 Crore as no one was interested in bidding for him.
Chris Gayle, a firm fan-favorite at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, went unsold, but could still find a taker on the second day of the auction. “The auction is not over yet,” Thomas said when asked of Gayle. “We should reserve this question for later.”
