Sri Lankan Cricketer Chamara Kapugedera suffers Horrific injury during 3rd ODI


Sri Lankan Cricketer Chamara Kapugedera is under observation after being accidentally hit by a ball during 3rd ODI Match against Pakistan in UAE on Wednesday (October 18). This Middle Order Batsman was simply walking towards the crease and had no idea that his team’s wicket-keeper, Niroshan Dickwella throughed ball towards him. By the time Kapugedera noticed the ball, it had already hit him in his face Badly.  During His Try to safe his eyes from any injury, the ball strucks on dreadful sight of his massively swollen face was horrific. There is no fracture thankfully, Sri Lanka’s Manager Asanka Gurusinha told To Media  on Thursday.

Kapugedera misses the fourth ODI in Sharjah but he is expected to play in the last game on Monday, if he is fit. The right-handed top order batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama made his ODI debut in the fourth ODI after having been flown in on Wednesday as an additional player after the team management thought that the team was missing out on batting in the line-up.

Incident Took Place After the end of the 10th over during Pakistan’s chase, wicket-keeper Niroshan Dickwella lobbed the ball at Kapugedara, who was walking away with little clue of the trajectory of the ball.
