BRICS – BIMSTEC Leaders Condemn Terror, PM Modi Takes on Pakistan Indirectly


BRICS meeting which was conducted yesterday, roared up to fight against Terrorism. PM Modi indirectly attacked Pakistan on its support to terrorism. The meeting which happened in Benaulim was attended by all the BIMSTEC leaders. As a part of BRICS summit, India hosted this year’s summit. India invited BIMSTEC leaders as a part of discussing the Uri attacks.

BRICS – BIMSTEC Leaders Condemn Terror:

Leaders of Russia, China, Brazil and South Africa on Sunday also expressed solidarity with India while condemning the Uri attacks of September 18 on the last day of the eighth edition of the BRICS Summit. Countries belonging to the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (Bimstec) are India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand and Sri Lanka.

“We strongly condemn the recent several attacks, against some BRICS countries, including that in India. We strongly condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and stress that there can be no justification whatsoever for any acts of terrorism, whether based upon ideological, religious, political, racial, ethnic or any other reasons. We agreed to strengthen cooperation in combating international terrorism both at the bilateral level and at international fora,” told the goa press in a report.

BIMSTEC Leaders Expresses Support to India:

Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay in their speeches expressed their support to India, in view of the series of terrorist strikes, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also condemned the terror strike and said that her country has “zero tolerance to terrorism and violent extremism”.
