Five Killed in Fort Lauderdale International Airport Shooting Rampage, Suspect in Custody


Fort Lauderdale Shooting Rampage: Reports say that 8 people injured and 5 people dead in Fort Lauderdale Shooting Rampage which occurred early in the morning. A lone gunman opened fire Friday at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, international airport. This has recently added Emirates and became to host one of the fine airlines and suddenly this has happened.

Fort Lauderdale Shooting Rampage Kills 5, Injures 8:

The attack took place in baggage claim area and people scrambled to other terminals nearby shouting and for help. People were running even to the airfield at one of the country’s busiest airports, shutting down all flights while paramedics and federal and local law enforcement officers flooded the scene.

The suspect is said to have belonged to Iraq who was a veteran. The gunman who was in possession of a military ID, was in custody and being questioned by the FBI over the shooting that shut down the international airport and gateway to the Caribbean. The incident took place in the baggage claim area of Terminal 2, as passengers collecting their luggage were interrupted by the alleged gunman, whose papers identify him as Esteban Santiago.

Israel during a news briefing on Friday afternoon at the airport, which is operated by Broward County said that, “Right now, this scene is considered fluid and active.” ABC News said that the gunman had traveled from Alaska to Fort Lauderdale, with a stopover in Minnesota. According to CBS he engaged in an argument on one leg of the trip.
