This movie also deals with black money which is the trending topic in the country.

Mammooty will be speaking Kasargode dialect in the movie and his dialogues were written by renowned writer P. V. Shajikumar. Story: The story revolves around Mammootty who is a middle-aged businessman based in Kasargod district and the film portrays his struggle to tackle black money. It captures the confusion and the hopelessness of the working class people following the government’s ‘surgical attack’ on the black money hoarders. The movie is based on the issue of black money. Demonetization had thrown our country out of the gear around the first week of November last year.

Review: The movie has 137 screens in the state and it will surely have additional shows at the night if the initial reports are positive. The movie has completely shown how a common man as well as business man suffers with the surgical strike. But the decision was taken just as fast as they could and made the common man suffer. At the end, it didn’t show whether Demonetisation is a hit or another act which made a common man suffer. Mammootty has done well in his character and given his best in the film.

Ineya, Sheelu Abraham, Siddique, Sai Kumar, Renji Panicker, Harish Kanaran and Mamukoya are the other major casts in the movie. The film is produced by 3 Color Cinemas, a production house co-owned by Abraham Mathew along with director Ranjith and actor Arun Narayanan. Movie buffs are waiting to see if the Ranjith-Mammootty team will strike a gold at box office

The background score by Achu Rajamani hammers in the mass in the scenes and stand out. Kashmora and Maari fame cinematographer Om Prakash’s sepia-toned frames are good and stylish.Mammootty’s screen presence, the background score, comedy sequences in the first half and the Kasargod dialect are the positive things to watch out for in the movie. A huge cast, including Mamukkoya, Siddique, Baiju, Iniya, Hareesh Perumanna, Niranjana Anoop, Ganapathy, P Balachandran and Indrans deliver decent performances but fails to save a drowning screenplay.

  • Direction
  • Mammootty Magical Performance in the Role
  • Back Ground Music

  • Story is predictable
  • Failed to show everything which a common man faced in the time of crisis

Puthan Panam Movie Verdict: A good movie to watch how we have suffered in the time of demonetization. If you go expecting to watch a wholesome film on the black money issue, you might not get your money’s worth from this flick.Of Course, Mammootty is the one who made everything look simple.
