Haraamkhor Movie Review & Story Plot

Haraamkhor may not be a film that sets a cinematic benchmark but it is an important one as it dares to explore a forbidden subject, without condemning or legitimising it.

Set in a small town hinderlands of North India, Haraamkhor tells the tale of a married school teacher Shyam Tekchand who becomes very interested and begins an amorous relationship with one of his female students, a 15 year old girl Sandhya after he discovers that she is attracted to him.

But, Sandhya has got one more suitor in the form of her tuition mate, Kamal, a young boy who nurses an infatuation for her. She, on the other hand, has no interest in him and spends most of the film berating him. The rest of the plot revolves around the conflict in Shyam-Sandhya’s tempestatous affair, Kamal seeking help from his best friend Mintu to catch Sandhya’s attention and how the love story finally succumbs to a dark twist.

In the film, we can see Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Teacher Shyam, Shweta Tripathi as School student Sandhya, Trimala Adhikari as Sunita, Mohd Samad as Mintu, Sandhya’s classmate, Irfan Khan as Kamal, Sandhya’s classmate and Harish Khanna as Raghuvir

Haraamkhor Movie Negatives:Will Be Updated

Haraamkhor movie Verdict: Haraamkhor is definitely not everyone’s cup thanks to its gritty subject. However it is not exactly a fantastic piece of art either, even though it had the potential to be one. But thanks to the spectacular performances of Nawazuddin, Tripathi and the kids, Haraamkhor can be an uncomfortable one-time watch.
