October Movie Review & Story Plot

Dan (Varun Dhawan) is living the life of any carefree 21 years old, revolving around a bunch of friends and fellow hotel interns who feed off each other’s everyday moments, their ups and downs. Shiuli (Banita Sandhu) is one such intern at the same hotel, who at times is at a receiving end of Dan’s audaciousness. October is an intriguing tale of Dan who shares an unusual connection with Shuili. However, a tragedy befalls Dan and changes his perception towards love, life, and relationship.

Varun absolutely charms us with his innocence, Banita Sandhu as the Shiuli sure leaves an impression. The film also marks the debut of Banita Sandhu who had gone viral few years ago for her bubble gum TVC.  Already Bollywood celebrities and critics have watched october movie in the special screening and praised the film cast and narration.

Good Job Varun.

Khaleej Times gave the film 3-star rating and said,
Shantanu Moitra’s melancholic music in the film cushions it well. The movie is predictable but you still want to know how the climax unfolds. We missed a heartbeat and left with a heavy heart as it ended.

The movie hall was divided when it came to the reviews of the film. While some thought this was Varun at his best, few complained about it being a medical documentary. For me, the movie has its heart in the right place with a perfect emotional quotient. Kudos to the team for not going overboard with melodramatic scenes.

Maybe the movie is not for everybody. But it is a Varun Dhawan- Shoojit Sircar collaboration you can’t afford to miss.

Amitabh Bachchan: “OCTOBER” film, एक पुष्प ‘हरृंगार’ ( harshringaar ) का, gentle, soft, श्री Krishn called it ‘Paarijaat’, in Bengal ‘Shiuli’ unique tree, does not wait flowers to give fruits or seeds… blooms in moonlight… sheds the flowers before sunrise, like a weeping shower…”

Karan Johar: “#October is absolutely beautiful… just beautiful….sucks you into its world and absorbs you completely…I felt like I was standing there with the characters and feeling their every beat and emotion….@ShoojitSircar and @writeonj are a genius team!”
