Rajinikanth launches Website After Political Entry, asks people to join at @rajinimandram.org

Actor Come Politician Rajinikanth After announcing his entry into politics, a superstar on Monday launched Party website and an app inviting fans and people to register themselves in his campaign to bring about political change in Tamil Nadu. The actor appealed to his followers to join him to create a new Tamil Nadu. Those interested to register their names should also register their voter number either on a mobile app or on the above-mentioned website, the release said.

Rajinikanth in a Statement says “I thank all my fans and public for giving their support after I announced that I am ready to enter politics. I request all my fans who have not registered their names in any of the fan clubs to register their names on the website www.rajinimandram.org. Others who want a better politics can also register,” said Rajinikanth in a press release and in a video uploaded on social media.

“I’m not in politics for name, fame or money,” Rajinikanth had said on Sunday. “The last one year has brought shame to Tamil Nadu. Every other state is laughing at the state of our politics…This must change.”

He had said his first priority would be to bring together his unregistered and registered fan clubs under one umbrella. He urged people to be his “watchdog, not cadre”.

After years of will-he-will-he-not uncertainty, the 68-year-old bus conductor-turned-heartthrob of Tamil cinema told cheering supporters here that his decision was a “compulsion of time”.

Alleging that politics in the country had gone “very wrong”, Rajinikanth said in Tamil: “Under the guise of democracy, political parties are looting their own people.” Such a system, he added, needed to be changed. This is not cinema. It is a reality.
