Tata Harrier SUV Rolled Out from Pune Plant, deliveries to begin from 2019

Tata Motors has just revealed that the Harrier SUV will be officially unveiled in the first week of December 2018. What this also means is the pictures of the Tata Harrier could be leaked in the next few days. This invariably happens before every big car/motorcycle launch. Keep an eye out for the Harrier. Earlier this month, it was spotted testing on the racetrack in Coimbatore, then at high altitude in Leh Ladakh besides testing under extreme weather conditions in Jaisalmer. Now, the car has been spotted testing in the bumper to bumper traffic of Pune city.

The company has been dropping multiple teasers of the SUV being tested in various terrains across India. The Tata Harrier will be initially available in a five-seat layout and a seven-seat version will join in later. The five-seat Harrier will come with a 140hp 2.0-litre diesel engine. The seven-seat variant is likely to come with a more powerful 170hp version of the same motor. two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic will be on offer.

A first image of the production-spec Harrier had surfaced on the internet recently, giving us a proper glimpse of the SUV’s exterior styling. Tata’s Impact Design 2.0 theme will make its debut on the Harrier and will be seen later on the upcoming 45X hatchback too, which is slated for launch in the latter half of 2019.

The Harrier will be Tata Motors’ new flagship, sitting above the Hexa in terms of price and positioning. A starting price slightly under Rs. 15 lakhs is expected, and the leaks have suggested just this. The top-end variants are likely to cost a little under Rs. 20 lakhs. Once the Tata Harrier SUV is launched in January 2019, the SUV will go up against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and the Nissan Kicks.
