Two Police Officers Suspended for leading PM’s convoy on wrong route

Two Police Officers were suspended by senior superintendent of police (SSP) Love Kumar on Wednesday for an alleged security breach in the Prime Minister’s convoy during his visit to Noida on December 25 to inaugurate the Delhi Metro’s, Magenta Line. As Per Reports Sub Inspector Dilip Singh and police driver Jaipal was responsible for steering PM Modi’s convoy the wrong Direction as a result of which the prime minister’s cavalcade was caught in traffic for two minutes near Mahamaya Flyover. Traffic policemen then rushed and cleared the route for smooth passage. There was no security arrangement in that patch considering the Prime Minister was traveling. The convoy had to be later stopped for at least two minutes following the wrong turn.

As a result, the vehicles of Modi and many other VIPs were caught in a traffic snarl at the Mahamaya Flyover. Also, a motorcycle and a bus came very close to the VVIP fleet. After being caught in the jam for around three minutes, the convoy proceeded after traffic and police officials rushed to the spot to clear the bottleneck. An official said the Prime Minister’s fleet was to take the HCL cut to go on to the expressway but took a turn 200 meters before the designated one.

There were no markings on this route which did not have adequate security for the Prime Minister. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was present during the security breach, has reportedly given a dressing down to the officials and sought an explanation. A detailed report is likely to be submitted to the government in the next two days.
