Vizag : IndiGo Plane carrying 150 passengers was bound for Hyderabad had a narrow escape after a wild boar almost collided with the aircraft that was taking off. IndiGo officials confirmed that the pilot saw the boar, but it was too late to abort take-off. The crew notified Air Traffic Control+ (ATC), after which the runway was cleared of the carcass for the plane to return for touch down.TThe incident occurred on Sunday in IndiGo flight number 6E-742 from Vishakhapatnam to Hyderabad.
The pilot made a safe landing back at the Vizag airport after about 45 minutes to get the aircraft inspected. “We ensure customer safety at all times,” IndiGo said.After all the safety checks the flight resumed its journey, but not before a delay of one-and-a-half hours, the airline said.
Speaking to Press, Vizag airport director G Prakash Reddy said, “We’ve raised the issue with INS Dega, which controls the airport. We have requested the District Collector to arrange us personnel from the Forest Department and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation to catch the wild boars suspected to be hiding in the thick vegetation in the vicinity.”
