The Most Awaited Bollywood Flick Welcome to New York Which Stars Sonakshi Sinha, Diljit Dosanjh, Karan Johar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Rana Daggubati, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani and Lara Dutta with a special cameo from superstar Salman Khan. This star cast covers entire India as in Diljit Dosanjh will get the audience from Punjab while Rana Daggubati will rope in the south Indian people but since there are so many one wonders who has a cameo and whoever is coming with an actual role. Film going to hit big screens on this Friday. So Before Going to Movie Check Out Welcome to New York Movie Review, Rating, and Story Plot.
The film tells the story of two unlikely youngsters living in India in search of a better life for themselves. An unexpected trip to New York City sets them off on a comedic adventure that changes their lives forever. Teji, a sloppy recovery agent, and Jeenal Patel, a fashion designer, unwittingly become a part of a Bollywood event in New York and a series of chaotic events ensues. South Actor Rana Daggubati, who is known for his roles in action thrillers, will show off his comic side in film Welcome To New York.
Sonakshi Sinha spoke to the media and revealed how ‘Welcome To New York’ has a completely different concept to anything anyone has attempted before on the industry.
The most annoying part of the film is Karan Johar’s double role. The only good thing is that he openly acts effeminate which is commendable, but he is even worse than Bombay Velvet here. Dijlit Dosanjh is average, and Sonakshi Sihna is a total waste especially when she has a good screen time amidst the whole jing bang. Boman Irani is noticeable, but Lara Dutta is just about okay in her grey shade role. Riteish Deshmukh, Sushant Singh Rajput, Rana Daggubati, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif are fillers and nothing more.
The film is a torturous endorsement of IIFA. The only question popping up in your mind is, ‘What is it?’ Is it a film or a fancy documentary on IIFA Awards in New York. Enter the theatre at your own risk or at least carry a punching bag along with you if you are unfortunate to see it.
Verdict: All-in-all, Welcome To New York is more a series of comedy skits stuck loosely together than an actual film with a coherent plot and screenplay. It’s a fresh idea alright and better execution would have turned it into an eminently enjoyable film.
However, the film is more of an experimental affair with fact meeting fiction and hence it would be interesting to see how do audiences lap on to this one. There is a special attraction though with the film also releasing in 3D. Even with a 3-4 crore opening day, the stage would be set for this Vashu Bhagnani production to gain momentum over the weekend if the content turns out to be promising.
