Uttarakhand: A Woman named Sweety Sen poses as a man and marries two women for dowry this incident happened in Uttarakhand. Going in Depth Uttarakhand Police on Wednesday arrested a woman named Sweety Sen, who is a resident of Dhampur, Uttar Pradesh, posed as a man and married two women. She then tortured one of the women for dowry, said Nainital’s senior superintendent of police Janmejay Khanduri.
Sweety Sen had reportedly met a 22-year-old woman on Facebook and somehow convinced her that she was a man. The police revealed that the two got married in the same year and started living in a rented house in Nainital district’s Haldwani town. However, Sweety reportedly started beating her for dowry.
Later in 2016, Sweety married a 20-year-old woman from Nainital district’s Kaladhungi area. The couple then started living in Hardwar. According to the police, Sen never allowed the two women to look at her body and used sex toys to maintain the illusion of being a male
The fraud came to light when a complaint was filed by Sen’s first wife in the Kathgodam police station in October 2017. She had alleged that Sen had taken Rs 8.5 lakh from her family saying that she needed the money for a factory she owned in Hardwar.
So, how did she manage to pull off such a feat without getting caught?
As far as the hapless wives are concerned, when the girl from Kaladhungi came to know that Sen was not a man, she silenced her by promising money. However, the girl from Kathgodam lodged a complaint with Haldwani Police alleging dowry demands and threats– which is how the case came to light.
The accused used all the tricks available for posing and living as a boy. In all the documents, including voter I-card and Aadhar card, recovered Krishna was identified as male.
The drama of the girl finally ended in Valentine’s day. The Police has booked Krishna under section 420, 467, 468 and other sections f the Indian Penal Court.
