70-year-old Gaddar votes for the first time


A former Maoist ideologue and popular revolutionary balladeer Gaddar voted for the first time in his life on Friday — in the Telangana Assembly elections. Gaddar, 69, cast his vote in Alwal area of Malkajgiri constituency in Greater Hyderabad.

After voting in Hyderabad, he spoke to the media and said, a revolution should come in taking part in the elections especially the youth should come forward who can bring a change. “Our constitution should be protect and it can be done only by voting. That is why I voted for the first time and there should also witness a political change,” said Gaddar.

Gaddar has stayed away from politics after he joined the People’s war (Maoist) party when he was working as a bank employee in Bhongir. Later he walked out from the party. He campaigned for Congress party in the Telangana assembly elections.
