Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Resigns: In a very unimaginable way, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar resigns from his post. JD-U leader Nitish Kumar on Wednesday, July 26, resigned as the chief minister of Bihar. Read to know what transpired after that. A little more than one and a half years after he had assumed the position in a new coalition government, Nitish Kumar took the decision and submitted his letter to Governor.
Nitish Kumar, who quit the Bihar’s Grand Alliance yesterday, will take oath as CM today with NDA’s support. A few hours later, the BJP MLAs in Bihar decided that they would support the JD-U and create a new coalition regime. The Congress was also a part of the coalition.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Resigns from His Post:
Nitish Kumar, after resigning from his position said that, “It is not possible to work in this environment. [But] I tried to found out a solution.” He said the approach of his allies, Lalu and Tejashwi Yadav, to a CBI case of corruption filed against them earlier this month, made it untenable for him to remain in partnership with them.
Within hours the BJP offered support to Mr Kumar, and they have staked claim to form a new government. The oath ceremony will be at 10 am. Tejashwi Yadav, who as the leader of the largest party in Bihar, said he would stake claim, is now on way to Raj Bhavan with 100 supporters to register protest.

The BJP will join the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar and not offer “outside support” as it had earlier suggested. “Nityanand Rai ji and I called Nitish ji. BJP has decided to support him and the government formed under him, We will inform the Governor too,” said the BJP’s Sushil Modi.
PM Modi also tweeted and congratulated Nitish Kumar for fighting against the corruption.
