Three Indian Army Soldiers were badly injured during a practice drill ahead of the Army Day on January 15 in the national capital. During the rehearsals in New Delhi, three Army Jawans accidentally fell off from the helicopter. While the jawans did receive injuries, they are reportedly out of danger and their condition is stable. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday. The Army has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Check Out video which is going viral on social media which shows the jawans sliding down on a rope tied to the chopper. As the soldiers start to descent, the rope is seen slipping off the helicopter which results in a free fall.According to media reports, the incident took place on January 9 and the soldiers are currently undergoing treatment at Army Hospital Research And Referral in New Delhi.
Though the actual reason behind the incident is not clear yet but as per an Army official, the incident happened due to boom malfunction and not due to the rope that was used for the operation.
The incident raises questions on the safety measures taken for the execution of such drills.
