The Great Father Box office: Kerala Megastar Mammootty‘s most awaited flick The Great Father having a phenomenal run at the Kerala Box Office since the release(March 30th). It is the family thriller which receiving positive reviews fro film critics and audience. Now, The film is creating new records in the Malayalam film industry. Already, Mammootty film broke all-time box office records in Kerala on the First day. Now, It has become the fastest movie to collect Rs 20 Crore.

The film was made with Rs 6 crores budget and the collections show the power of Malayalam audience. Mammootty has thanked all the audience who made the film blockbuster on his official facebook page.

He wrote, “I want to thank each and every one of you in making the Great Father such a huge success! It’s broken the first day opening collection record, the fastest 20 crores collection to date and all of this with a relatively modest 6 crores budget and made by a first time director. This is a celebration and an eye opener to the size and power of the Malayalam audience like no other ! Here is wishing for our industry to continue growing bigger and better so we can make even better and bolder films!!”.

According to trade experts, It already broke the records set by Rajinikanth’s Kabali and Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan. It is also expected to enter the prestigious 50-Crore club of Malayalam movie industry. If The Great Father movie enters 50 Crore club, It will become the first film of Megastar  Mammootty in his career.

Coming to film, Mammootty is seen in the lead role and Arya, Sneha and Shaam in supporting roles. Directed by debutant Haneef Adeni and produced by Shaji Nadesan, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, Santhosh Sivan, and Tamil actor Arya under the banner of August Cinema. Film’s songs composed by Gopi Sunder and Background Score by Sushin Shyam.
