Android Go Operating System Announced at Google I/O 2017: May Come India in By Diwali

Android Go Operating System: Google I/O 2017 took the next step to introduce the Android O Beta Operating System and another OS which is light weighted Android Go. Previously, Google launched Android One Operating System which targeted the low key smartphones which has the basic features. But with that failure, Google got some input and starting the new strategy to put their effort once more in Android Go.

Google’s next big attempt is the version of Android for lower spec phones, which has the memory of less than 512 MB. It will have apps custom-made for this lite version of Android, and even a version of Play Store that will highlight the apps that will work well on this version. Starting with Android O, all other smartphones with under 1GB of RAM will automatically get this version as default.

Android Go Operating System Launched at Google I/O 2017:

Indian smartphone vendors like Micromax, Lava and Karbonn, which were the major players in the mass market segment that Google wants to target and were also its partners for Android One, said Thursday they are looking forward to working with the US company’s new OS. However, analysts said they may be wary about committing investments for creating another set of Android devices on top of the existing ones, having tasted failure once. Android Go could come to India around Diwali.

YouTube Go, an app like this that works well even on very basic smartphones could gradually negate the need for a more powerful, costly, device for millions of people who can’t really afford it. Clearly YouTube Go hints at the lower level version which will be supported on Android Go and the smartphones at the entry-level.
