Google I/O 2017 Revealed Android O Beta: Google I/O has everything what an android user need. This year’s Google I/O revealed the Android O Beta along with the new features and made it available for download. Now the Android O Beta is available through OTA for all the people who are in beta version. Google I/O is the next big thing which everyone are waiting for to know more about Android O, successor of Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Android O is the successor to Android Nougat and Google highlighted some new features to expect with the new Developer Preview 2 release, which is now available as public beta users globally as part of the Android O Beta Program. Google announced the Android O Beta at keynote address of ongoing I/O 2017 annual developers conference in California. There are devices which didn’t even run Android Nougat and waiting for the update.

Before the announcement at Google I/O, we know the features like picture-in-picture, notification channels and improved keyboard navigation for the next version of Android which is Android 8.0. The new feature which Google also mentioned called Smart Text Selection. This new feature improves copy and paste through the help of machine learning, which can now recognise contexts on the screen such as an address and will be able to copy the whole thing with a double tap.

When you select the text which is an address, there will be the options which pop up like cut,copy & paste. But along with these, smart text feature also makes Maps icon to pop which will show you the address directly. Notification Dots is a new way for developers to notify users about about activity on the app, driving engagement. Android O also touts better battery efficiency and Google is providing that through Android Vitals, which focuses on optimising battery life, startup time, graphic rendering time, and stability.

Google has introduced new tools for developers such as system optimisations, background apps limits, and Android Vitals Dashboards in the Play Console.
