Samsung Launched Galaxy S9, S9 Plus in India Starting at Rs.57,900 to Rs.64,900 Respectively

Samsung has launched its latest flagship smartphones in India at a price of Rs.57,900 to Rs.64,900 respectively. The company has collaborated with leading service providers such as Bharti Airtel Ltd, Vodafone India Ltd and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd to offer lucrative deals on data and related services to customers. This will give the users an opportunity to choose from different networks. Samsung Reward is a loyalty program of the company’s payment service application called Samsung Pay which was launched last year.

“India has one of the highest number of social media users, is one of the largest 4G data markets and one of the fastest growing cashless economy in the world. With Galaxy S9 and S9 plus we have re-imagined the smart phone for today’s and tomorrow’s India,” said H.C. Kong, president and chief executive, Samsung South West Asia. With the introduction of Samsung Reward, users will be able to accumulate points when they spend.

“Galaxy S9 and S9 plus are smart phones in a class entirely of their own. With this launch Samsung will further consolidate its position in the flagship smart phone segment in India. Through our partnerships with leading operators consumers can experience data speeds like never before for faster downloads and uninterrupted streaming,” said Asim Warsi, senior vice president, mobile business, Samsung India.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are powered by the Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC in India. You get the Android Oreo experience out-of-the-box and IP68 water + dust resistance as well. Both phones have an identical 8-megapixel autofocus front camera f/1.7 sensor and come with a microSD slot with support for cards up to 400GB capacity. S9 has Super Speed Dual Pixel 12-megapixel autofocus f/1.5-f/2.4 sensor with OIS while S9+ has the same camera along with a telephoto lens with 12-megapixel autofocus f/2.4 sensor.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 price in India (MOP) starts at Rs. 57,900 for the 64GB model, and goes up to Rs. 65,900 for the 256GB variant. The Galaxy S9+ price in India starts at Rs. 64,900 for the 64GB model, and goes up to Rs. 72,900 for the 256GB variant. Samsung hasn’t launched the 128GB variants of the smartphones in India. The phones will be available from March 16.
