Telangana Assembly Election there are betting gangs that are cashing heavily on the whole election process as media reports huge swing in some constituencies like Kukatpally and Serlingampalli, Lb Nagar where there is a considerably huge population of Andhra based settlers. Many are betting on whether Nandamuri Suhasini and Bhavya Anand Prasad will win or not in these areas.
In some constituency where the victory of candidates is quite sure, people are bookies are betting for the majority these politicians will get. Like, with how much majority Revanth Reddy will win in Kodangal, how many votes will be excesses in the kitty bank of Harish Rao in Siddipet, are some of the examples And the bets are being placed anywhere between few lacs in some constituencies. All these betting rajas are now waiting for exit-polls that will come tomorrow evening to see if their bet will stand victorious or not!!
But Admitting that betting is going on at a massive scale across the State, CEO Rajat Kumar said that betting does not come under the purview of Election Commission of India (ECI) and the State police would take necessary action by filing criminal cases against those involved in the illegal activity during the polls. Participating in Meet the Press programme organized by Press Club, the CEO said that though betting is criminal in nature, the poll authorities are not monitoring the cases relating to betting as it does not fall under the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
