Urjit Patel is current Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). On 20 August 2016, he was named as the governor of RBI to succeed Raghuram Rajan when the latter’s term expired in 4 September 2016. Here is the viral news going in public and social media, that RBI Governor Urjit Patel’s Wife is Nita Ambani’s Sister and Mukesh Ambani will have reachable hands to RBI.

When Mr. Patel got the honour to be the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, That day I have mentioned this reason too, in one of the point of my answer and also in many other answers.

Those who highlight his connection or relation with Mukesh ambani is indirectly want to hit at Modi. For the people who support RBI governor ha relation with Ambani, we did a little digging on the net and this is what we found

Nita Ambani has only one sister and her name is Mamta Dalal. (Their father’s name is Ravindrabhai Dalal). Mamta works as a teacher in Dhirubhai Ambani School in Bandra. On the other hand, Urjit Patel was married to Kanan Patel and they have two children, Eishan and Ishika. Kanan is the daughter of Anil R. Patel. She has two sisters, Rachana and Shweta.

Urjit Patel is a highly accomplished Economist. He was born into a wealthy Kenyan (of Gujarati origin) business family in Nairobi in 1963.Patel obtained his Bachelor’s in Economics from the London School of Economics , M. Phil. degree from Oxford University , and a doctorate in Economics from Yale University.

Urjit Patel worked at IMF India desk during the 1991–94 transition period. He was posted to IMF country mission in India 1992–95.= He has also been a non-resident Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution since 2009. later he worked in several High Level Committees at both Central and State Government level, including Competition Commission

On 11 January 2013, Urjit Patel was appointed as Deputy Governor of RBI for a period of three years. His recommendation letter addressed to the home ministry was written by none other than Manmohan Singh, then the Prime Minister of India. “He is very important for the country,” Singh had said.

So those who think all of this was a conspiracy plotted by Modi, Ambani, Adani and whoever else, may enjoy a poor night’s sleep and a good week’s worth of plotting to imagine another conspiracy and Adani/Ambani connection.
