Review: Keerthy Suresh is Superb in the role of legendary Savitri who rose to fame from rags to riches. And the extensive star cast makes it more interesting. Overall it’s a good first half. – Savitri had to leave her home when she reveals about the secret wedding. She knocks the door of already wed Gemini Ganeshan. Good interval bang. – Savitri moves to Madras for movie chances along with her Chowdary pedananna Rajendra Prasad. She gets a role ANR’s (Naga Chaitanya) movie. Dulquer Salmaan introduced as Gemini Ganesan. She starts her movie career and falls in love with Gemini Ganesan.

The first half of this film is very good. In the second half, due to pathos in the legendary actor’s life, the narration slows down but emotions work out. Throughout the movie the director keeps you connected with the proceedings. Samantha Akkineni who played a journalist Madhura Vani got into the skin of the character. Her performance while talking to coma-ridden Mahanati in the climax is outstanding.

Vijay Deverakonda as Anthony is good, except diction. Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganeshan is remarkable. Naga Chaitanya enacted his grandfather’s reel life and is super cool as ANR (No off-screen scenes of ANR). Great actor Mohanbabu portrayed SVR’s role, Prakash raj as Chakrapani, Avasarala Srinivas as LV Prasad, Director Krishh as Director KV Reddy so on. Nata Kireeti Rajendra Prasad potrayed the role of Savitri garu’s Pedananna ole. Bhanupriya, Naresh, Tanikella Bharani, Shalini Pandey and Malavika Nair played smaller roles. Makers should thank all these great actors for supporting Savitri garu’s biopic.

Mahanati has good production values and Mickey J Meyer’s music, Dani Sanchez-Lopez’s cinematography, Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao’s editing, dialogues, makeup and recreation of her era are attractions on the technical front, say the audiences.

Verdict: Very sincere attempt from the whole team to preset the glory days of Telugu Cinema Do tie self a favor watch the movie and be a part of history Score: 80%

Rating: FOUR Out of 5 Stars
