Telangana A bunch of traffic police found themselves stunned by the never-ending challan record of a biker at Himayatnagar on Thursday evening, with one vehicle carrying 136 violations. The biker had violated traffic rules more than 100 times in the last two years and managed to evade penalties amounting Rs 31,590. Surprised at the number of the violations, police immediately seized the vehicle — TS 10 ED 9176 Hero Glamour — and filed a charge sheet against the offender, identified as Kaligotla Krishna Prakash, a resident of Alwal.
This Incident happened On Thursday evening when the police were doing a regular checkup at Himayatnagar Y Junction, they found Krishna Prakash driving without a helmet. While issuing a spot challan for the violation, the police also tried to check if he had any previous violations. During this check, they were stunned to find that he had committed 135 violations and had paid only once, when he has issued a spot challan in June 2016.
According to the Telangana State Police e-challan portal, the bike was found violating traffic rules between June 9, 2016, and November 1, 2018, and as many as 46 e-challans for riding without the helmet was issued near YMCA under Marredpally traffic police station limits. While 18 e-challans were issued on RP Road, 15 tickets were on Marredpally road for the same violation.
Repeat offender On several other occasions, Prakash was found riding while talking on the mobile phone without a headgear.
The penalty for riding without helmet is ₹135 including user charges and ₹1035 for cell phone driving.
Narayanaguda traffic sub-inspector Krishnam Raju said that during their route vehicle checking on Thursday near Himayatnagar ‘’Y’ Junction, they detained Krishna Prakash for riding without the helmet.
