Vijay Devarakonda Most Awaited Film NOTA Released finally. Actor Sathyaraj is back in a pivotal role in NOTA, a Tamil-Telugu bilingual political thriller. Featuring the rising star of Telugu cinema, Vijay Devarakonda in the lead role, this will be the actor’s foray into Kollywood.  Director Showcased Vijay as a rowdy and a complete ladies man. He parties late into the night and even gets drugged out of his mind. The second half of the teaser, however, explores his more stern and serious side. He is a politician and a leader who has made up his mind to bring change to the system.

The film is Directed by Anand Shankar, the film is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual that notably has Vijay dubbing for himself in Tamil, after putting in a great deal of effort to learn the language. The movie also comes at a time when there’s a lot of political discussion going on around the Telugu speaking states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu too. Moreover, this has garnered a great deal of attention around the film. He takes his job lightly, but situations force him to become serious. The twist in the tale is that he learns that his father ex-CM is behind many crimes in the state. How he handles the situation forms the crux of the story.

The film is produced by prestigious ‘Studio Green’ banner who usually produce films of Suriya and Karthi. Written by Shan Karuppasamy and edited by Raymond Derrick Crasta, ‘NOTA’ is expected to be a political thriller with a lot of twists and also touch some real-life incidents. Santhana Krishnan Ravi Chandran worked as the DOP for this film and music is given by Sam CS.

Review: Vijay Devarakonda has delivered a fantastic performance, which is the highlight of NOTA. Nassar and Sathyaraj have done a good job and their acting is also among the highlights of the film. Mehreen Pirzada, Yashika Aannand, Anastasia Maslova, Sanchana Natarajan, Priyadarshi Pullikonda and MS Bhaskar have done justice to their roles.NOTA has good production values. CS Sam’s background score, Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran’s cinematography, punch dialogues, art direction, and Raymond Derrick Crasta’s editing are the attractions on the technical front.

NOTA Received positive talk from early shows, it might as well set a new opening day record for Vijay Deverakonda in the Telugu states. That is how big the openings are going to be. The current craze of Vijay Deverakonda as a star alone is seen as a reason for the initial response. Unlike some of the big openers of medium scale films, NOTA does not have anything going for it positively in Telugu states except the star at the centre.

A resounding success here would be a massive boost to the stardom of Vijay Deverakonda. All we have to do now is wait and see what the talk of NOTA is going to be. Watch this space for our review.

Rating: 3.5/5

Verdict: NOTA first-half runs on out and out serious mode. A couple of songs in the first half act as speed breakers. Missing the novelty factor in the political setup is a big drawback so far. Overall, it’s an average first half at the best. Second Half Some political sequences are relatable to Tamil Nadu. Good Songs, heroine thread etc. elements are missing which is obvious with total political theme film, All in all, NOTA could have been much better!

#NOTA So ROWDY CM? Very flat and okayish 1st first half, filled with some goosebumps moments. Everyone will go crazy while experiencing the press meet scene. Hope that Anand Shankar will shift some unexpected gears in 2nd half.

#NOTA – Interval – Has few powerful moments that suits the current Political scenario. #VijayDeverakonda is impressive. Has problems with dialogues which a bilingual usually carry, progression becomes slow after a speed start. Game begins at the break-point. ‘Watchable’ so far.

#NOTA 1st half – Going good. Interesting, gripping political drama by @anandshank. @TheDeverakonda as the #RowdyCM is highly convincing. The ever-dependable Sathyaraj and Sanchana Natarajan are impressive too.. @samcsmusic’s BGM score suits the film’s grandeur and scale. #NOTA 1st half – Some of the political scenes and dialogues are connecting well with the crowd, getting applause. Relevant to the political climate in the South.
